Well just finished unloading my old doors and loading the new ones via. glass, lock, handles ext...

I think I would rather do another set of quarter panels.

Plus its a 68 and way to many adjustments (vent window is a real pain to get where you want it).

Now a question. I ruffly adjusted things where I think they will be. I still need to do all my weather stripping. Main concern is the window sweeps can I put them on with the glass in stalled?? and the vent glass channel.

Window still binds a little in the middle on the way up. any suggestions.

I have had luck with the following instalation sequence:
1..outer pads (rub strips)
2..window run weatherstrip
3..manual or power winder and bracket for horizontal lifting bar (in lowest position)
4..window, mount on lifting bar
5..front and rear guides (front is 69+)without upper stoppers
6..inner pads (rub strips)
7..adjust and lock

Dominick, you got the top on yet? If not, don't bother with the window adjustments yet. Also, the repop pillar seals are hard as a rock so get those on first so you can set the vent window. You need to get top set up first, it will really affect the rear side glass, which you need to do before the doors to get the front/back set up so it doesn't pinch into the top, then you can get the door vent/glass centered up between the back glass and the pillar.

My top is up. Kind of just using the quarter window and the top as a ruff guide for now, but even my top stripping is shot.

I am calling Ames tomorrow to order the whole kit. Still have to do the other side...

I know I'm dredging up bad memories for you Dom, but I can't figure out the proper way to replace the vent window seal...
How do you remove and replace it?

The ones that run vertical that seal main window to quarter ? If so, adjust the window so it will roll up high enough to get at the bottom of window. Or if it's out, I believe there is a screw at the bottom of it. Then seal should slid out from the chrome trim that is attached to the glass. With the new ones, I used some rtv on them then slide up in place. Hope that helps. Let me know.

No, not that one. I should have specified..I wasn't thinking about that one.
I'm talking about the one that seals the actual wing window to it's frame. It has a pivot pin in the upper/forward part of the frame and I can't figure how to get the window out to remove the seal.
PS- I've got the entire wing window with frame out of the car.

I have to say, I can't help. I never did mine. Did not bother cause my frames are in such poor shape.

Greg,at the lower most foward section of vent assembly you will see two screws. Also at the uppermost section in the door glass channel is one smaller screw that holds foward section to glass channel as well as channel guide strip. Remove these three screws and you can disengage upper pin and then rotate vent window frame so the staked portion aligns with notch and lift out. Hope I didnt make this confusing , it's not.

That does help...at least I know I need to look for some screws. I looked at it pretty close last night but I guess them may have rusted to the point that they look like rivet heads.
Is the procedure in the Fisher or GM manual? Translation...:confused2

Update... I walked out and looked at the assembly right after typing my last response and 6869GTO, your description was perfect. It was very clear what you were talking about once I looked and it took less than two minutes.
My seals are not in really bad shape...a little cracked from dry rot on the outside exposed portions, but still pliable.... on the other hand, it's one of those jobs that is such a pain on a completely assembled car, I figure I may as well change them while I have the assemblies out on the workbench.
