Market for new 8.2 ring/pinion?
 

I'm working on a source to provide brand new BOP 8.2 gear sets (ring and pinion). I suppose the first ratios to start with would be 3:23 and 3:08 (3:55 is available today from traditional sources). These would be pontiac sets, no need to change your pinion yoke, ujoints, etc to use Chevy parts.

Do you think there is a market for this?

3.36 Is the biggest missing ratio in todays availability

I think a small selection of high 3-series ratios for street performance and highway use would sell pretty well.

The 3.08, 3.23 and 3.36 ratios would all be good sellers, especially the 3.36. Maybe even offer 3.73, 3.90 and 4.11 gears for the more performance-minded individuals, but I doubt they'd do as well as the high 3-series gears. Forget about any 2-series ratios, nobody really wants them.

I agree with the above posts. I would definitely be interested in a BOP specific 8.2 3.23 or 3.26 gear ratios. I think enough Pontiacs are still out there needing/wanting these ratios to warrant reproducing them.

I would love to get my hands on a set of 3.36

definately i'd buy a set of 3.23 and 3.36 if i could find em! our engines make huge torque and not all of us are running engines that need 3.55-4.10 to haul a**

Remember-the 3.36 takes a different posi(3.36 and up) than the 3.23 (2.92-3.23 posi)

I would buy a 3:08 in a heart beat. I am so frustrated I am thinking of getting rid of my goat. I have a 3:55 which is usless for where I live and the type of driving I do (highway). I just posted a thread trying to find out a sollution.

Just get anything in the 3s other then the 3.55:1.

3.36 is available from Yukon. Do the 3.08, not enough difference between 3.36 and 3.23.
