Rodney Red 68 GTO fittment issues

I posted this in 68-69 GTO-Tempest forum but no response yet.

I bought a rodney red radiator for my 68 gto and having fittment issues. The factory rubber mounts have grooves which interface with seams on the stock radiators. The groove/seam interface will stop any side to side movement, but the rodney red has no seams and therefore the rubber mounts will offer no side to side support. How have you guys mounted your Rodney Red radiators, mine doesn't fit very well, which is not what others experience. Also the top insulators don't fit the contour of the tank. I'm almost thinking of fabricating my own lower mounts. I don't have any photo's yet of the fit but will post some tomorrow.

I have the stock 3 core brackets and folded down the bend on one end to allow a wider insulator. Are the four core mounts totally different? I know the one on the driver side would be longer, but aside from that are they different...........

I think my car came with the four core lower brackets. It is a 68 GTO w/AC and a TH400. I attached a photo of them before I cleaned them up when I replaced my radiator. I couldn't find replacement isolators so I had to reuse mine. They are different from what everyone seems to sell - I bought 3 sets from 3 different vendors  and none match what came out of the car.

Brackets

Check the remarks in both the Ames and PY on-line catalogs where the RR is listed. They both clearly state you need the 4 core brackets and trimming the insulators may be required. Both places sell brackets and insulators.
