Wards Classic Radio Repair

Anyone needing their original AM or AM/FM or tape deck repaired, consider www.wardsclassicradiorepair in Huntsville, AL. Actually saw a post by PY user Cardo (thanks) recommending them so I sent my 66 radio down to them. Came back in 2 weeks good as new! Good turn around time and they even detailed the radio. Nice job!

Thanks for sharing that information- and they appear to be reasonably priced.

After seeing some of the crazy prices in Hemmings

I almost didn't use these guys because I thought they were too cheap. I sent AM/FM Stereo and 8 track to them and they both came back looking good and working well. $150 each.

Do these guys simply clean-up and repair to original conditions and electronics or do they also gut the unit and replace with modern electronics, tuner, and more power? One of the drawbacks with using an old radio is getting speakers to match up with them. They are designed to be used with 10 ohm speakers and that is hard to find.

On mine they repaired to original condition. Not sure if they modernize or not.

They DO NOT modernize radios. They only return to "as good as new". They can add an MP3 jack for listening thru your original radio. All of this info comes direct from their website under the FAQ section.

Their prices seem very reasonable and the turnaround time is great.

I had my factory 8 track player done by Wards a couple months ago. I am very happy with their work.
