How about some OLD CAR PICS!!!!

I love to think about cars when they were new "off the show room" I was just wondering if any one wanted to share pics of their old Pontiacs from back in the day! I wish I had some but I'm constantly taking pics now so that one day I can show my kids "old" pics of my cars.

Thanks Guys

Pic.s taken in '79 of '76 black on tan SE. It had all the good stuff: 455, 4spd, T-tops, 8-track, A/C, defrost, power everthing. It was my brothers and I haven't seen one optioned out like it since. Too bad it was totaled in '81.

First picture it's three days old.

2nd one around About August of 76. Just put the Western Super Spokes on it.

The last one is from 77 with the Hooker headers and side pipes (not show tubes). Also had #16 heads and a RA IV cam in it.

More with John Wayne and some action getting the 'Green Hornet' "a little dusty"

Note the small "nose" bird instead of the optional whole hood 'screaming chicken'...

Also,as I recall, the fender decals/rear spoiler decal are missing along with the white letters from the tires.(very talented thieves back then)

Notice how the R/V mirror is pushed right up to the headliner in the windshield shot?

FYI: I was in the parking lot/loading dock from the hospital scene last summer & not much has changed from the original shoot.

The hospital is STILL a hospital!

It's just south of downtown Seattle & can actually be seen from I-5 (east side) as you are driving past.

You are correct sir! I have attached a pic with the I-5 Vancover BC Highway Sign included in the scene - this is where he stops, backs up down the on ramp and lays rubber going straight.

Also included a closer view of the lack of Shaker, Fender, etc. Decals.

Note the different front and rear license plate numbers, and that the majority of pics shows the T/A with Black Walls, but just before the "Jump" scene the T/A used has Raised White Letter WIDE OVALS!

(Notice the 1973 SS Chevelle in the background picture with John walking around the back of the TA - he had chased down and was holding up the Laundry Truck driver looking for the fleeing felons)

I have head that the Mc Q car was an SD 455 as well as a 400 and 455. With so many 73' TA's on set it could have been all 3.

I hated seeing it crushed..the movie ends there for me.

Yup - same for me too - and most others here as well I'm sure. Although the beach chase scene is pretty good...too bad it wasn't another Pontiac that the Duke was driving...

Rask...you make me want to cry

Thanks for all the posts guys, this turned out to be a pretty good topic!

Keep it up

Formula 400 74 01-14-2008 05:07 PM

My first Formula. Bought in Oct 1975, sold it in Mar 1980 because I was going to Germany in the Army and didn't know if I could take care of it there (probably could have gotten a lot more money for it over there!).

I came right back to Ft Knox in 1983 and saw a lady driving the car. I chased her down, she was the wife of the MP who owned it. I noticed the interior was kinda trashed and asked to open the hood - the guy had blown my beautiful motor and stuck a 350 in it.

Paint code 74 Honduras Maroon, don't see many of those. The sidepipes were real, hooked to Doug's headers.

Hey Russ, I was over at D's today and he broke out an old photo album. A few of your old TA's were in it. Looked to be from the same era. Nice cars.
