Now that's chinking the ego...

Nitrous DR stock suspension CARS have had a hard 2/3 years or so when tracks allowed unlimited turbos with all kinds of boost retards, etc. Finally getting a grip on the timing of nitrous without burning sh*t up. Ya gotta make 1700hp "minimum" to be competitive anymore. and with DR's and stock suspension.

Now if ya go on the boards, the turbo guys are whining. The 1/8th mile is just an excuse for them.

BIG, BIG match race Sunday at Bradenton.
Old Gandy racer with a First Gen SBC Camaro has been talking trash about the crew down here and finally hit the fan after 6 years. He's finally in the 8's and talking trash. LOL. Gonna be interesting knowing all of them.

mbr 01-10-2008 11:57 PM

saw that video yesterday. cant wait to see the other two parts. none of the turbo guys are whining. the only one's whining are the one's that cant tune a car. and yes 1/8 mi racing does tighten up the turbos and the nos cars. i hope like hell im ready for the 15k race in october or if the north/south 30k race maybe happens in virginia this summer. those boys better be careful because there is a yankee brigade getting ready to come down there a blow them away. real men race 1/4 mi not that redneck 1/8 sissy sh-t!!u 1/8 mi guys are afraid of 190-210mph? will take two twins over four stages anyday!!!!!!!

Ive been to Bradenton both during a test and tune as well as a race. I am still trying to figure out why they don't show ET's and MPH during the test and tune runs.

David Holmberg 01-11-2008 12:28 AM

Chief, they hide the numbers so the gamblers can test n tune without giving away too much information.

PONTIAC DUDE 01-11-2008 01:20 PM

Runday Sunday this Sunday.

Who's going?

Hope to be there. Need to get dialed in for the Tomato nats in Immockalee next weekend. Then the Street nats at Bradenton the following weekend. Looks like a full card for this month. LOL.

Just Got the pistons and balancing done. Seeing as the Sealed Power 400 .030 forged pistons have been back ordered since September. And still not available. :( :( Had to go another way, but better. It's all ready to do. Will be assembling next week. Should be ready by Friday.

Ken,what are you going to run at the street nats? The 6.50 index?

Mo 01-11-2008 04:35 PM

Seems like Lynch should just bolt on a set of DRs and see what he can do. With the quicker speed/ET they are going they will soon have to deal with the same NHRA rules that the "Quick 8" cars did. What are the rules for a 7.49 or quicker chasis again?

Its ok, probably will not be able to drive it for a while, unless spring comes early. Maybe I just set the carb rich, let it idle and suck in some good 70's fumes.

PHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHTTTTTTTT, O yea man this is good stuff

mbr 01-11-2008 08:24 PM

mo, in regards to the 7.49 and quicker: it is the tracks decision on what the exact specs will be. most of us dr and 10.5 guys dont follow nhra rules. most thing that the nhra is a joke and their rules are a joke. we go by the sfi spec. most will 25.2 spec their cage and then recert it 25.5 for the weight. the 25.2 spec is good for 3200lb and the 25.5 spec is good for 3500lb. now the new problem is weight of twin turbos. most of us will be over the 3500 spec which is only good up to 7.49. faster than that u need a 25.2 spec which is 3200lb. sfi is currently working on a new spec for 3500lb to go faster than 7.49. but the bottom line is that it is up to the track to say what is safe and unsafe. both the joke nhra and sfi are just guidelines.
btw. i believe lynch and other 10.5 heavy hitters wont put the dr's on. too much is affected chassis wise
the second part of the pirez video comes out tonight also!

Ken,I might be interested in that series,my car runs pretty consistent 6.50s now.I looked at the rules, they say 28-10.5 radial slick or max 315 radial, would they accept a 30-9 radial slick? My car has working lights and signals but no interior, think they would let it in?
