opinions on autofeed screw guns
 

I have to build a sprung dance floor for my wife's dance studio. Found a vendor that sells a do it yourself floor. Plans call for two layers of alternating 1/2" plywood with 120 screws in the top layer of each board. I'm looking at approx. 5000 screws to be driven. So I'm thinking I should splurge for an autofeed screwgun and wondered if anybody had an opinion on any certain brand. Thanks in advance, Rob

I have a Milwaukee with sharpfire and it works great. If you are goiing to get one, get the one that is interchangeable, hooks right to the drill and has a 30 or so inch extension for doing floors. You can get the screws online. GREAT time saver and easy on the back.

I had a QuikDrive to do cement backer board and it worked great. Sold it for most of what I paid for it when I was done.

Sprung dance floor? Shall we send you all of our used Pontiac valve springs?

thanks guy's, ended up going w/ senco 300 s2, home depot give me a good deal, along w/ all the osb and plywood. Old valve springs? :)

The Senco should work fine. Gymnastics floors are two layers of wood (with padding on top) and a bunch of springs between them to provide cushion. Is that how a dance floor is?

pretty much, same concept. 3/4" foam every foot square glued to plywood. plywood layed down (foam down), then osb screwed perpendicular to the plywood. dance vinyl floor on top.

I've got the Senco 300, nice tool, best thing is you won't hurt your back or your knees!

I bought it for my guys to use when putting in subfloor for tile. It paid for itself in labor savings the first day!
