Door Panels, 3-4 weeks?
 

Yikes, I was a little surprised when they told me it would take 3-4 weeks to get them. Usually I get my parts the next day.... O, I did forget to tell them who they were talking too.

That`s fast. I ordered mine 10/26, they got here in February. No problem tho--car was in body shop.

It's the Busiest month of the year. If a supplier doesn't have something in stock, it's at least 3-4 weeks. If I knew it was you I would have quoted 6-8 weeks. :)

2 months for seat covers! I was told it would be a couple of weeks.

I ordered the PUI "Gold Edition" through Ames. I expected them to take a little longer since they were not normal stock (66 red). I was told 4 weeks through Ames, not a problem. Well that was 9 weeks ago. I was going to give up so I called Ames to cancel the back order but suprisingly, they just arrived there. So hopefully, I'll have them next week.

Out of curiousity, I called Legendary last week to see how long their door panels would take. I was quoted two weeks.

Wow, what a wonderful guarantee. 25% off your next order of the same parts, same quantity. So you'd have to restore the same car with the same color interior to get any pay back. Sounds reasonable to me.

In case anyone is interested,the PUI door panels I got for my 65 GTO dont fit well and the pleated areas started lifting a few weeks after I put them in.Many little problems had to be adressed.

Goatman, If you had problems with the door panels, you should have returned them. Also, you jacked this thread. Please start another topic in the appropriate forum if you want to discuss PUI quality issues. thanks.

I didnt return them because almost every repro part I've ever bought has had some type of problem so I just expect it when I buy something.And sorry about jacking the thread,I was in the wrong and I apoligize.

I reread this post and realised this is more a topic about PUI interior issues then PY issues. Your point is one shared by many customers. I agree that the quality of many reproductions are not 100% but sometimes the only way to improve quality is to make the returns. Popping dielectrics is unacceptable and should be replaced by the mfg.
