1978 Trans Am Y88 Project

I really don't want to, but I am going to have to sell my project.
I ran across a 1978 Trans Am, Y88 Gold Special edition. Pontiac 400 and Automatic transmission. I have not got the PHS doc. on the car so I have not seen the following on paper, but with the facts offered online i have reason to believe it also has the W72 package, WS6, power windows, A/C, gold tinted fisher t-tops, and rear defrost. Mechanically, the car is great. The engine has been freshened up, an edelbrock proformer intake, headers and full exhaust, always starts on the first try. Transmission shifts strong, the car is a blast to drive.

Now, the reason it is a project. It was a northern car. The previous owner bought it in Chicago, and drove it to Charleston, SC. The body is severly rusted. However, I also bought a 1979 Trans Am that had no drivetrain, but with a much better body. I have already purchased both front floorpans and an upper rear panel (the panel between the rear windshield and the trunk) to replace the problem areas of the 79 body. These panels are included in the asking price of the vehicles. The power steering pump has a slow leak, but a brand new power steering pump is included, I just have'nt had time to install it. Front brakes are new, recent tune-up with new spark plugs and wires, dist. cap, and ignition module. Have new rear brakes that go with car, not installed.

I have the titles of both vehicles, and I paid over $2700 for all of it, would like to get $2500 out of it, but we can talk about price and could possibly talk about trades, let me know what you have.
Cars are in Cherry Point, NC 28533. Reply or PM if interested, pictures availible upon request. I tried to save this car, but as a active duty Marine I don't have the time or the funds to properly restore the car. Time for another enthusiast to take their turn at the wheel. Thanks for looking.

OK, Military Police are giving me a hard time, apparantly you cant leave cars parked in a barracks parking lot for a long period of time. So, before I do anything rash like part them out and junk them, I am making a last bottom-doller deal.

$1000 takes both cars and all the Trans Am stuff I have. I am adding some pictures to my photobucket, check it out.

Again, that is $1000 FIRM! You can get way more than that by parting them out.

Thanks for looking, call me if you have any questions. 828-768-4743.
