400ci pontiac motor mounts

I have a six cylinder engine in the ventura right now. I'm looking at a 400ci engine, where could i get the right motor mounts? or could i use the mounts that the six already has?

You will need the frame-side mounts for a Pontiac V-8. The aftermarket mounts are not 100% right. They can likley be "massaged" to work. They are the same for the 68-74 Venturas and the 67-69 Firebirds.

For the motor side, the same rules apply (68-74 Venturas and the 67-69 Firebirds). If you are doing something with significant power, consider the Mity Mounts...they privide a solid connection for the drivers side mount, otherwise, stock mounts will work.

from the list here http://www.mitymounts.com/pontiac.htm

should i get the mounts for the 67-69 firebird w/ 400ic or 71-72 Ventura for the 350?

Yup, same mount. I run them and they have been good so far.

You can get the frame mounts from Tamraz Automotive parts. They usually have a couple of sets listed on ebay. Get the ones for the 67 to 69 Firebird.

Guess I read it as he having a 400 engine and needs the mounts? He will need both the frame and the engine mounts for the V8 installation.

The aftermarket frame-side mounts are not quite right...we could NOT get my motor bolted in with them. We grabbed the original set from my '69 Firebird, and they fit perfect. We didn't bother to try to figure out what was different.
