400ci pontiac motor mounts
I have a six cylinder engine in the ventura right now. I'm looking at a 400ci engine, where could i get the right motor mounts? or could i use the mounts that the six already has?

You will need the frame-side mounts for a Pontiac V-8. The aftermarket mounts are not 100% right. They can likley be "massaged" to work. They are the same for the 68-74 Venturas and the 67-69 Firebirds.
For the motor side, the same rules apply (68-74 Venturas and the 67-69 Firebirds). If you are doing something with significant power, consider the Mity Mounts...they privide a solid connection for the drivers side mount, otherwise, stock mounts will work. |
from the list here http://www.mitymounts.com/pontiac.htm
should i get the mounts for the 67-69 firebird w/ 400ic or 71-72 Ventura for the 350? |
They are the same part number.;)
|
Yup, same mount. I run them and they have been good so far.

You can get the frame mounts from Tamraz Automotive parts. They usually have a couple of sets listed on ebay. Get the ones for the 67 to 69 Firebird.

have some new old aftermarket mounts (anchor no. 2254) for $36 for a pair shipped to lower 48. Pm me if interested.

Guess I read it as he having a 400 engine and needs the mounts? He will need both the frame and the engine mounts for the V8 installation. |
