six cylinder rear end?

just wondering, what is the rear gear for the straight sixes...?

and is it a posi?

More than likely an open 3.08.

is that good enough to race it on the strip?

You can race with anything you want. The real question is how long will it last.

+1 on race what anything you want. Behind a six it will last forever. If it is an 8.5" corporate rearend (it should be) they can be made to support a lot of horsepower without failure much cheaper than buying a 12 bolt or 9".

^ ^ ^ What he said. My '73 Omega came w/ a 3.08 open rear-end, from the factory; 250, automatic, 2-door post coupe.
