Front Fender Emblems for 1968 GTO??

Hi All,
What is the correct placement of the GTO emblems on the front fenders for a 1968 GTO??
I got my hands on some NOS fenders and didn't realize the holes weren't there until the old fenders had sold.
I am going to contact the buyer and see if I can get measurements but thought I would check here too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
John

My fenders appeared to be oem that had patches put on them at some point in thier life, but didn't extend into the hole area, so I'm assuming they are correctly placed. (they look like they're where they should be) Did note that the top horiz. surface of the emblem runs parallel to the chrome trim, not the body line below it, as the body line runs downhill ever so slightly toward the front of car, relative to the chrome trim (or bottom of fender).
Anyway, look at the pic to see what I measured on mine.

If you do a search there is a thread that has the exact hole location, easy to measure and keep straight. This is what I used and work great. I think its in the 68-69 section though...

I have paper templates: hand-made xfer, sloppy yet correct. NOt worth copying & sending. Rather have Recommendation:

1: SINCE the GTO fender is curved everywhere you try to Reference. Then you gots to Reference from the Fender bottom, for both hole-heights.

2: THEN drill one hole.

3: Then use emblem studding to locate the second hole, to height ref, then drill.

Most important aspect is the Emblem "tilt" being factory-correct, regardless of car level.

4: I noticed that the Fender emblems will sit poorly if the Fender lower zone has a twist due to panel-gap alignment to the Door. To fix that, unstwist the Fender or Flat-file the high-spots off the emblem's backside & use sheetmetal nuts rather than push collars.

I used the rocker moulding to but my tape on as post says. and looks great then hook tape on to side of fender till points intersect and you got it.

Mine came out great. Have to admit every time I need to drill a hole I get nervouse, Lots of tape and blow off area DO NOT BRUSH off .....

Sorry to resurrect a post that has been sleeping for 5 years.... ;)

Is the top of the emblem suppose to be level with the bottom of the car, or should I say level with the stainless rocker panel? Mine seem to be slightly tipped & appear to follow the body line a little.

Thanks!
