Need to replace power window motor
I need to replace pass side power window motor in my 67 GP. I can't seem to get the door panel off. I've removed every bolt that I can see. The problem appears to be that there is a bolt that holds the armrest to the door framel. But I see no way to get to that bolt. I can't pull the door panel far enough away to remove it. I must be doing something wrong. It can't be that hard to take a door panel off.
Any help would be appreciated. |
Have you removed the two screws that go down through the bottom of the metal finger well in the arm rest pad?
Are you sure that your problem is in the motor? Every wiring harness that I have examined for the '67 power windows had a broken wire in the harness where the wires are flexed in the door-to-jamb boot. You should do a continuity test of all the wires to eliminate that problem source . |
Yeah, I did remove those screws, but something is jammed somewhere. I'm not 100% sure the motor is bad, but when I hit the switch I can hear the motor go click like it's trying to start. I will check the wiring.

Have you taken the metal trim off around the door release handle and power window switch? Seems to me I remember a bolt or screw in there somewhere, the rest of the panel is held around the edge with small nails that fit into plastic retainers, they can be popped out with a small panel popper as you work your way around the panel.

look in the 67 body manual to see how to remove door panel.

I finally got that panel removed. It was just stuck at the top for some strange reason. The original motor was bad. Replaced it and now everything is working!
thanks for the help! |
