82-92 VFN dashboard

I'm waiting for delivery of one of these dashes for my 87 Firebird bracket car. Has anyone put one of these in? Were you satisfied with the fit and quality?
Thanks.

Sorry for the long wait on this reply... I haven't been on the boards in a long long time. I have this dash in my 85 and I am very pleased with it. I have the main part of the dash mounted and fastened the top part with quarter turn fasteners. I wish I had a picture to upload for you but I am away at school and the car is 900 miles away :(

I think you will be pleased with it. For the most part it looks stock and its nice to mount the gauges how you want them.

Thanks for the reply - it went in like a dream. I'd strongly recommend it to anyone with a 3rd generation firebird that wants to peel some pounds out of their race car..

Hello John,
I don't have any pictures. We eliminated the stock dash and the console. The VFN dash weighs 4#. I'll bet that we lost 35#. Nice unit, easy installation. I also replaced the back hatch glass with .125 race weight lexan. Lost about 100# and picked up a tenth in good air.
