Need help with the web site/tring to track down specs on my cam..lost info,thanks guys

What cam?

That is the question my friend...bought it back in 1994 marks on the back say hc-03a..there is a few near the front lobes..no one knows the specs:guess there what a shtload of prototypes on that casting

hc-03a is an HO Racing cam, not a factory grind.

Ken Crocie hangs around here and may see this post or you could go to his website and contact him through that as he would be able to provide the specs if no one here knows what they are offhand.

The fun part is i called him about a year ago and he said he made about 5 different grinds....im fubard:confused:

Interesting. I knew he ground different versions of the HC03, but I thought they were labeled with the letter suffixes. Thus, the verion you have being the "a" version, then a "b" version, a "c" version, and so on for each different variation. But, what do I know. If Ken says he can't tell for sure from those numbers, he would certainly know best.

You still have options.

First option is to take the cam to a cam grinder if there's one near you, or ship it off to someone. They will be able to determine the specs.

Second option is determine the specs yourself with a degree wheel and dial indicator if you just happen to have a long or shortblock laying around you could install it in.

I run the HC-03 in the '71 455 HO engine that I have in my '64 GTO. Pretty big cam for a street car.

244/252 @ 050, .500/.504 lift with 1.5:1 rockers, I use 1.65:1 rockers for .550/.554 lift.

The HC-03A is just an updated version, I'm sure the specs aren't really all that different.

See all i have to go one is an old dyno 2000 sheet i made back in 98 for some reason??? i put 244/256 .504/.515 w/lobe 144 cen. 108 dont know if those are true or not ..ran that cam in a .30 455 w/ ram iii heads i think about 12:1 and i loved it....i put cranti-pumpups and comp 1.5s..errr badars..:usa2:.

errr ram arir iii 13s ended up being 350s 13s...

Huh? Only one #13 casting. Used in '70 on HO/RA 400s with auto trans mostly. Not on 350s. No big-valve heads were used on 350s 'til '75.

hmm let me check....they might have been 46s been 12 years..got them from some guy around here that did heads told me they was ram airiii,and i found out that same casting no was also 350s..small valves

No big valve heads used on 350's ? what about the '69 350 H.O.???

Okay, you caught me, I forgot about that one. The only exception to the rule I'm aware of though.
