Where to find a radiator?
 

I need a new radiator for my 65 Tempest with the 326 (auto w/ a/c)
I have been unable to find them anywhere for less than ~$400!!!!
Any idea how to do this for less? I do not need an exact replacement, but something that is close would be great.

i meausred my radiator, went on summitracing.com and bought an aluminum universal with with same dimension (actually 2 inches wider) and works perfectly. look into a universal with similar dimension.

Dammit! I just got a universal, well not universal, for just over $200. I found a 65 Chevelle is almost the same size so I bought a cheap aluminum one off of E-gay

Not quite as tall so I will have to make some brackets to hold it up a little, also the bottom hose touches the radiator support frame so it needs to move up a touch anyway. The stock fan will interfere with the new upper hose location so I will be installing an electric fan and doing away with the mechanical one.

Make sure the top hose isn't higher than the radiator cap...read the thread "Is your car running hot? Read this!" in this section...

The Griffin universal fit radiators sold by Summit or Jegs, 26x19 part# GRI -1-252222-X, $195.95 is a better unit,for your car, than what you just bought, will drop right in the factory bottom mounts, (no lower hose clearance issues), upper hose is on the drivers side, just fab a different top mount setup, and your ready to go. fits great! but if you run an auto transmission you'll have to run an external trans cooler setup. but most "universal" rads don't have the cooler option anyways.

The radiator I bought does have the AT cooler lines and it works great. It would have been nice to have had a better fit, but what I have now seems to work. All I lack is a decent top bracket because I didn't move the radiator up rather I modified the lower radiator support (hammer, puch, chisel..I see how you fix!) to clear the hose. I still need to buy the fan or fans depending on what size I get. For now the stock fan does the trick sans shroud, till summer comes anyway....

64 gto w/66 tripower radiator
 

What would be a good fit for a 64 gto w/ a 66 tripower ? My 64 is a real tripower 4speed with the deeper radiator support , both the upper and lower hoses are on the passenger side . Thank you

How much $$$ do you want to spend? Aluminum universal fit radiators start at around $200, and that Alumitech piece I got ran $600...

That's a very good deal...where were you last year when I decided to spend way too much for my radiator???
