WTB: 1962 Carter AFB # 2123S
Please reply here or PM me if you have (or have a lead on) a Carter 2123S (4bbl)
Thanks! |
Matt try ebay but punch in pontiac carburetors instead of 62 pontiac, For some reason they dont always fall into the car category. I just scored a 57 pontiac NOS 2 bbl for my brother for $125 shipped. I had ben looking for at least 3 years.

Alright, TXBC...sounds like a good idea. I am a gimp when it comes to web searching.
I had a guy tell me that the number is invalid (too low)...Is there a typo in Pete's book? |
Matt - you have a number problem. The number is NOT invalid, but is not a Pontiac, nor is it even an AFB.
Do you possibly mean 3123s, which is a Pontiac 1962 Carter AFB for manual transmission? If so, it is a toughie. I think we only have a couple. Jon. |
Hmm...Thoughts?
Jon,
A typo is entirely possible... the number you suggest (that which starts with a THREE) makes a lot more sense to me. Plus, your description matches my requirement. If you have Pete McCarhty's second book, look at the '62 engine data on P. 35...you'll see the carb type and number I am referring to. Thanx! |
Matt - it as a typo, and partially my fault. I checked the carb data from the first issue and sent Pete some mid-year additions and some corrections. The typo is in the first issue as well. Both of us missed that one. Note the 3123s lower in the page. Pete really did a fabulous job on that book.
