Limited slip differential for '65-'70 big Pontiacs
I'm pretty sure this is a limited slip differential (posi) for '65-'70 big Pontiacs. It accepts 31-spline axles. One end has a "250" casting no. and an I195 date code. The other end also has the "250" and also a lone "3" which I suppose could be the series? The unit looks to be in good shape. It has a 8-7/8" 40-tooth ring gear (for a 3.08 gearset) mounted with tweleve 7/16" LH bolts, but unfortunately I do not have the matching pinion gear for it. I can ship it without the ring gear to save money on shipping, or I can throw it in if the buyer wants it. The housing this goes into would have 10 bolts on the inspection cover, but with the 12-bolt ring gear. I think it was only used in the Bonneville, Catalina, Grand Prix and Executive. If anyone knows anything else about this unit, or if I'm totally off base, feel free to post any corrections or additional info, I would appreciate it. I'm going to ask $250 only because the forum rules require a price listed, but I have no idea what this is worth so feel free to make an offer.
