Body number plate
 
I have a 1967 GTO. Have researched car thru PHS. Have all info but I have a question about a number that is on the body plate that the research did not answer. On the body plate attached to the car is a horizonal number in upper the right hand corner. It is either a #6 or #9. This is not a stamped number like the rest of the numbers. It is a thin indented number. Would appreciate any info anyone would have about such a marking.

Bottom line is I don't think we ever decided for sure what they mean.
