Order of Repair

What are your thoughts on the order of rust repair? Should I fix the fenders/doors/trunk lid or store those parts until I fix the main body?

Order

In my opinion you should work on the non removable body parts first. You never know rust free doors, trunk, fenders or hood could fall into your lap at any time. At least then you would have a repaired body to mount them on.

I agree. By the time you fix the body, you may decide that you don't want to fool with the rusted parts without at least trying to find some better pieces to replace them with first.
I spent a lot of time working on my trunk lid. Much later, after almost finishing the main body work, I came across an almost perfect one on ebay.
Once I got it, I couldn't resist using it even after all the hours I had put into the old one.

Also be sure you are working on a solid foundation. I mean good body mounts. It is important to have your body on good mounts before you start welding anything new on the car.

Do the shell work first then move on to bolt on parts.

I see there is a consensus. I guess I will have the store the fenders somewhere out of sight. Every time I look at them I get the urge to fix them. Thanks for the responses.
