Pretty much so. It's well worth converting them to front disk if you can. I've owned about 5 74's over the years in one way or another and only one of them had the option for power front disk. This was a police impound/salvage car I used for parts and used that to convert the 74 I have today. You can buy kits pretty reasonable. It's night and day switching from drum to disk.

Very nice score.

BILTIT 03-28-2009 02:47 PM

All three 74's i have owned are power discs.

Thanks for the nice comments everybody. I eventually will put front discs on it. How do you get more adjustment out of the front seat? I am six feet tall and i need at least another inch maybe two of adjustment to sit comfortbly?

Nice survivor. I like the color.
You may have to modify the seat track to get it to go back further. Or try later model X-body, or F-body seats.
Does it have a bench seat?

post toastie 03-31-2009 08:17 PM

it's a benchseat, gotta drive it with two feet, seat is to close

on ebay there these things called seat extenders, i see them in the camaro firebird section, they are cheap, it move the seat back 4 or 6 inches....they bolt to the floor and then the seat bolts to them.....less than 40 bucks...

chicagoland 04-03-2009 04:10 PM

75-79 X bodies were more likely to have disc brakes.

Holy crap! I had to do a double take when I saw your Ventura because mine is IDENTICAL! From the color to the wheels.......................oh and drum brakes too.
