2BBL HEAD

2 Attachment(s)
Guys,
i need a picture of the head of a 2bbl (1968 XM) .. has anyone got one.
If you have a picture of the 2bbl manifold off and the valley cover off this would help heaps.
Looks like the centre exhaust port on the 4BBL manifold will be my down fall in changing over to 4bbl( first picture ).
Mine dont show me what i am looking for( second picture ) .I have gaskets to suit both large centre and small centre but if the head is large my manifold is wrong ....

Your intake is junk, I'm sorry to say. It is an EGR style manifold. While it wouldn't hurt performance much, it is heavier, the valley pan would need changed to accomodate the massive EGR bulge beneath the intake. Scrap it and find a 68-72 manifold, they are everyware for around 75.00. At least in the States...

thanks Paul
i will start my search again here in Aus. They are too heavy to ship over
will the valley pan be part of my new search also?

If you use the 68-72 heads you won't.
Or aftermarket intakes.

Ok it looks like it will be easier to get aftermarket .. non egr
with the valve size being smaller than 4bbl .
i am going to have other issues.
The cam is not that big anyway.I will try to find the cam spec .... big word try .

Also been there and done that, put on an edelbrock performer and modded it using the stealth manifold mods i found on the net so it looks alot like standard when finished. I tried for ages to find a stock manifold in Aus and finally gave up. You might have more luck on the east coast though.
