Dynoed 461

Today we put my dads 461 stroker on the dyno. I will post a video and the dyno sheet soon. It peaked at 584.1 HP and 564.4 Trq. at 6000 rpms. This was with Butler 316cfm heads, mild roller cam, Performer RPM intake (port matched), 1 inch spacer, Holley 950 HP, 10.0 to 1 compression, and 92 Oct. fuel. This will be a street car with a TKO 5 speed and 3.43 12 bolt rear end. Wheeler racing in MN machined and assembled the motor and Butler supplied the engine kit. I would have to say Gary at Wheeler really knows his stuff I am definitely pleased with having him build the motor. Also working with Jim Butler was a pleasure. I thought I would post these results for those interested.

Sounds like a FUN combo! What kind of car is it going in?

Sounds like a winning combo from the Butlers. Good luck with the motor and what ever ride you put it in.

Its going in a 1967 firebird convertible. The car is currently being preped for paint. Does anyone know if these are good numbers (average, below, above). This is the first motor I have built.

Those are good numbers. Looks like about average or a little better for a pump gas streetable 461. I am actually surprised that the torque is lower than the hp, but your hp is a little higher than alot I have seen so you may be starting to trade low rpm power for extra high rpm charge. I am going to go out on a limb and say that engine may benefit from a Torker II intake with a 1 inch spacer. It seems you are about at the point where a RPM starts to give up a little to the Torker.
