Manual Antenna Masts for 64's
 

I have two manual antenna masts that I may use for my (June) Fremont built 64 GTO.

1. Round mast with round tip. Was on the car when I got it, and I believe it is the original.

2. Oval mast with oval tip. It has a groove in the tip, and is threaded on the bottom, like the round one. I'm not sure if this one is correct for a 64.

Tried to search a few threads, but no luck.

not an expert but the catalog says round and late in the year a switch was made to oval. June is late but how late was the switch and they use up all the old parts first. The time of switch at different factories would be different. Better chance round is right as replacement for broken masts would be the oval

Round antenna had a base that was not interchangable with the oval antenna,oval had its own base. round ant. 520124, base 9774445, oval ant 9776979, base 9776919

Makes sense - If I remember right, the oval mast will not fit into the round mast's base, without modification. I'll have to take a closer look at my parts, and see what will fit into what. Maybe I'll just go with the original round one.

Just wanted confirmation that if I used an oval unit, it would be correct.
