Best to use glue, metal to fiberglass??
 

Installing my back up lites in my 67 gto, trouble is now i need what to use to glue the back-up lites into my fiberlass bumper??????? Any ideas??

If you want them to stay put get some 3M two sided molding and emblem tape, its got a red backing strip, any auto parts store carries it and even WalMart too.

I wasnt kidding at all, just wanted to help. Maybe what you are describing isnt the same as im picturing on your dilemma?

You can use Structural adhesive. If you're just doing these lamp housings you'll want to find a bodyshop to do this for you as it's not cheap and you won't want to buy the application gun.

Couple thoughts:

a) I have used 3M structural adhesive that uses a regular caulk gun (not a special gun). If you are convinced you want to glue them you might try that.

b) Aren't there any mechanical attachments on the bezel/backup light? I re-installed the parking lights on my glass front bumper by making a small bracket and bolting them in just like they were originally. I'd rather have them screwed in than glued....

You can disregard the damage here (which has since been fixed) but posting this to show the parking light/concept (note that the parking light stayed in place - LOL!):

On the bumper there is nothing at all just the outline of the holes to be cut out, i milled approx. .030 off the back-up housings so they sit flat into the bumper, i need some kind of epoxy or glue to hold them in.
