Shower faucet replacement.
Do they make new washerless faucets with the same layout as this pic of an old washer style faucet?
http://www.homeimprovementsdepot.com...er-1-large.jpg I've got one just like this one in the pic and I think this is what is leaking inside the wall. It's probably the divertor because the washer hasn't been replaced in a decade at least (40 yr old faucet). I can't get the handle off of it anyway. Do they still sell similar style faucets? I don't want to screw with retiling the shower or having a huge retrofit plate to hide the repair for a new single handle faucet. I can cut the drywall behind the faucet for all access. I'd like to replace the faucet in the same tile holes (hot. cold, divertor) with a modern faucet with replacement cartridges. I want to get away from the washers and retain the tile work. |
Lowes has them and I am sure others as well.

Measure your centers (center to center on ea. control) & the brand - then check on-line to see what is available. You can try Lowes & HD, but you will find other specialty plumbing suppliers with just as good prices. Check E-Bay first & you might be able to get some comparable brands with the same centers. I have found even the oddest centering replacements (turned out one of my showers in a rental had a fixture out of a mobile home in its shower that was from the 70s), Might not find the cartridge type, but my last set with stems & seats lasted 15 years.
Your Gerber is pretty common & you could easily find stems & seats etc. to replace what was there too. |
They've got 'em at HD and Lowes. I'll check ebay for deals though. They're a hundred bucks for a better known brand. I think I'll look for a Moen or Delta.
Thanks all. |
Check these giys out. The prices are 25% of retail stores. I have bought from them MANY times
