Chris , it may not be a coming ice age, but it doesnt seem to be a global warming coming either....just fluctuations , or cycles...as always has been...most likely always will be....and there wasnt anything that you could discredit?
Also, how "insightful" do you think Al Gores movie is/was?

Bjorn, what is there to discredit about that post - that there are undersea volcano's? That they can only be filmed from submersibles? That the video is now on youtube?

How any of that "proves" that global warming is not taking place I'm still a little fuzzy on. If I'm correct, your quack site has no "proof" only speculation that undersea volcanoes are the reason the west antarctic ice shelf is breaking up. However, like anything that goes viral on the internet or tabloid cable channels, if you say it enough times, somebody will start believing it.

1) no, theres nothing to discredit...but you are trying to say that a huge heat source in the ocean ,doesnt warm it up??:confused: but our breathing or burping does...? I know , I simplified that a bit, but "Im only trying to make a point".....Or are you implying that volcanos under west antarctic ice sheld can not make it melt? try a little science experiment, you should soon have ice outside you can try with...;).if global warming is in the way for that, try some out of your freezer...put a heat source under it , you`ll see the effect...
But I guess its too simple of an answer to why ice melts and oceans warm up....??

I don't dispute that a volcano can warm the ocean. What I dispute, and the quack site mentions the fact itself, that it is only speculation that the black smokers just inside the antarctic circle are proof there are volcanoes under west Antarctica - there is no direct evidence. The ice breaking up does not prove there are volcanoes or that they are active - circular logic!

The fact that you keep posting this, without even reading your own link does not make it true!

1) I DO read it, them...what i post...sure ,there are no "proof" of that volcanos heat the ocean...but they sure are hot when they erupt....and since you ask for proof, where is the proof that CO2 heats the Earth??
2) calling his books quack because you dont agree is not very scientific either....all sides should be looked at....but since Al Gores stuff is quack too, I guess it puts them on even keel?
3) and just because a site ends with NASA, diesnt mean it is not twisted ,afterall they DO get their funding from the govt, and if they dont agree ,theres no funding....simple logic.

I understand what you're saying, but as of late NASA has been heavily influenced by both the EPA, and the GOV. Would the NASA results be any different if they weren't vying for funding?? :noidea:

OR If they COULDN'T be fired by congress or the president? The VICE president IS in charge of NASA.

You guys speculate about the veracity of a federal web site and believe that it's part of some great conspiracy but take Bob Felix's word as gospel? Have you every really read his BS? Do you know how many times he footnotes his speculation with links to HIS OWN SITE? Really, kudos to him for drawing a straight conversational line between volcanic activity in the Philippines and the collapsing West Antarctic Ice shelf - I mean really, black smokers in the mid Atlantic rift might be responsible for Greenland melting too! :rolleyes:

Have you ever visited Yellowstone? I was there in March 1977, when there was snow all around....still hot springs, water vapors, steam etc in the park....

too bad we are not closer, it would be very interesting having this conversation over a few beers....
