Today my GTO turns 40 years old. It was this day in 1970 that she rolled off the line in Pontiac. I think I'll get a cake and have some ice cream.

I really should get the PHS for my car. Id like to know the build date.

Hard to believe these cars are that old already.:)

I know!! Mine is celebrating 44 this year! And it looks better than the day it rolled off the assembly line. Wish I did :D

I guess that if you just became interested in them and picked one up in the last few months, as with 99.9999999% of the current owners, it might be hard to belive.

If you have been in one all of your life (the 1st '77-'86, and the second from '87 to present) it's not hard at all to realize that the cars are that old. One you are where I'm at, the car is beyond value; even a $100k offer wouldn't make me consider selling.

My brother, who was about to turn 21 at the time, is the original owner. Surely he was chomping at the bit to get his hands on the car. As I recall he ordered it early in December of '69, carefully choosing which options he could afford and what color he wanted.

I'd take $100K for either my 69 GTO or 72 Formula. Then I could buy even more Pontiacs!

Cake and ice scream? Damn! I forgot all about doing that for my 70's 40th. Now you're making me feel bad.
I guess I'll go out there and change her oil and put some new air in the tires to kinda make up for it.

Wish her a happy birtday from me. I want to see a video of her blowing out the candles!
