Finishing Winter upgrades for spring
 

I have a few "stealth" projects to finish up on my Lemans before spring and thought I would share......

- Install Hurst roll control hiding the activation switch in the factory rear speaker switch and utilize the factory parking brake lite to show when it is armed.

- GV overdrive activation switch to be moved to the gear shift knob.

- Since I don't use the factory vacuum gauge for economy driving, I'll use it to monitor crankcase vacuum for my vacuum pump system.

Other non-stealth upgrades:

- convert to power windows

- Install MSD-6AL digital programmable ignition

- Install Northwind intake (should put me in the neighborhood of 700 HP)

I am installing a new Mcleod scattersheild, and hydro clutch.

Also, really, really thinking of dropping some Rhoads lifters on my 60919 cam....per Jim Hand.

My front & rear bumpers are out to be rechromed now.

Gonna pull the engine/trans soon. Fix some leaks, go thru the trans, new clutch, etc.

Pull all the window regulators & rebuild.

This is just a small list so far. I got so much that I want to do though.

Detail the engine compartment and install the 400 and Tremec.

I'll probably document everything....but since the regs/motors are out being refurbished, and the guy is very busy, I probably won't be doing it in time for this year.....

So...you're doing a "hydro clutch", as in hydraulic with a slave and master cylinder??

Well, I have a Mcleod bolt on hydro clutch set up, now in a box. I am running a mechanical linkage set up.
But the Hydro pedal set up, worries me on install. ER: how it mounts to the firewall, strength, angle of rod, etc.

And they have a slip on hydro clutch, and a pedal kit..But I will be dropping another 500 bucks. But I will sell the other one I have.

The bellhousing is most important to me. And I will sell the lakewood I have, and the stock bellhousing....
I was hoping to find someone who has a 66/67 who has done this. But looks like I will be the first guinea pig....LOL

Planning on pulling the motor out of my 66 this month for a rebuild. Hope to be all done with that by May. Other than that, new shocks and POR15 the under carriage once it gets warm. Really need to get a real heater out in the garage. Can of Sterno is just not cutting it :D

Boy do I have winter projects...

Rebuilding my engine - 462 stroker, hydraulic roller cam, KRE heads, etc.

Installing a Tremec TKO-600.

Installing a Moser 12-bolt rearend.

Installing all new suspension control arms, springs, shocks, etc.

Installing new 3-inch Pypes exhaust system.

New gas tank...

Damn Blue, that's allot of work!

Oh, and forgot - repainting the bottom of the car.

The worst part about all this is the bill... over $15,000 in parts alone :eek:

Hope to be finished by the end of April. Engine went back into the car today! Hooray!

Next off to get the other stuff done...

Only things I'm going to be working on is installing a set of shoulder belts I just got into my 66, and a different dome light... this new one has dual map lights in it. But it's got to warm up a bit first. At least get over 50 degrees. LOL

Last weekend I started my Hurst Driveline Conversions TKO 600 install. I also have a couple of ellusive fluid leaks I need to solve. If time and money permit, I'll remove my in dash tach and send it to get fixed.

I'm also in the process of buying my first home, so the only thing I may complete is the tranny swap. I made sure I purchased the kit while I still had some money to spend... Priorities first!
