Newbie Poster..1979 Forumla..with a 350 chevy.

I'm looking for another car like mine.

I have a 1979 Pontiac Formula Firebird.

This car has a 350 Chevy engine from the factory. Matching numbers...across the board.

After countless hours of searching...I have never found another car like it.

Please....if anyone has or has seen or knows where I can find another like it. Please respond. Thanks

I responded in the lobby too. I show 1089 350 Chevy produced 79 Firebirds. I don't see a breakdown of how many of those were Formulas.

I always like to hear about GM cars from that era still in the hands of their original owner.

What color is your Formula?

You'll have to post up some photos when you get a chance.

According my Pontiac Selling Facts dated April 79, the base or standard engine in the Formula was L27 301 2bbl.

The L37 (301 4bbl.) was optional @ $85.00 & included chrome splitter exhaust.

The L80 (Olds 403) was optional at $280.00 & " " " ".

The L78 (W72 400) was optional @ $370.00 & required M21 4 speed & WS6.(splitters incl.)

The LG3 (5.0 chev. 2bbl.) required Calif. emissions & was standard equipment on Formula in that state.

The LMI (5.7 chev. 4 bbl.) was optional @ 155.00 but was High Altitude Emissions (auto trans) ONLY which is likely WHY you haven't come across many/any others.
