Ram Air 3 manifold clearance
 

Yesterday, I mounted my RA3 manifolds on my 72 GTO.

The car has new 455 HO motor mounts and like it is now, there´s about half an inch of space between the control arm mounting bracket and the outlet flange on the drivers side.

I am curious how much space you guys have between?

Here's some pictures of my 71 conv with 66/67 RA manifolds. The drivers side was very close to the lower control arm mount. I ended up using a bolt that took an allen head wrench to get them tight. Worked fine for many years.

I am planning to do some bracket racing this summer,
and was a bit worried that the flange/manifold would touch the bracket when the engine twists.
Like for example when launching with slicks mounted.

Here´s a couple of pictures.

Looks about right. With the RAIII manifolds and 2.5" pipe it's tight in there.
