Source for hose and clips?
I checked PY, NPD and others, but couldnt find a source for the correct colored fuel and brake line clips. Green, Yellow, etc..
http://www.speedinc.com/uploads/DSC04005.JPG I also havent been able to find any hose, with the correct factory striping, used in various areas like: http://www.speedinc.com/uploads/DSC04004.JPG If the clips arent available, I could reproduce the correct colors on them, but I am unsure of how to do that on the rubber hose in a manner that it would last. BTW, car is a 73. Thanks in advance..Tom |
Inline tube has reproductions of these clips in different colors. I am not sure if they have a set ready to go that exactly match what you need for your '73. For my '71, I just blasted mine and matched them up as close as I could to rattlecans off the shelf. Hobby Lobby has a good selection of the Testers model spray paints which I needed to go to to get close on that bright metallic green color. I think I ended up with at least 6 different colors for my '71.

Ok, I just may do that. The clips are in nice shape, just losing their sheen. What did you do on the various striped hoses?

I didn't do anything with hoses. Just bought new plain ones. They are under the car and I am not really going for the 100 point resto and don't expect to have mirrors under my car. I did the clips because I needed to blast them anyway, so, I just paint them back to original.

Everyone is correct about inline's repo clips. They are just yellow and green, which these two colors were used, but there was between 6-8 different colors. And VN used different colors on a couple locations vs Norwood.. I have documented this for 70 and 71, don't know about other years.. guess 73 wouldn't matter as far as VN... but definately the repo's are wrong.. Just clean your originals and repaint the original colors. In the protected areas there should be enough color remaining to match..

I did find colored stripe hose from one of the sources PY or Inline Tube probably. They didn't have white stripe though.

hmmm, havent been able to locate that..

Hope this helps.. PY's had the yellow and red striped hose last time I bought some.. |
THANK YOU.
Its one of those things I could easily live with if the striped hose werent available, but an extra few dollars for the added detail is worth it to me. Last question, any ideas on the total of each needed? |
