Seatbelts....darn expensive

My seatbelts are looking a bit worn so I was pricing replacements.....Damn...I was shocked.... what is the story there?....why so pricey? Anyone have a line on some nice used ones or the best place to get new or nos?

Either re-dye them or check ebay for Bird and camaro. They have them come there up from time to time. Sometimes just a good soaking overnight in some detergent will do the trick. Inline tube also has tag at 38 bucks a set for them. See the article in PE this month.

Yes they are. I'm looking to do the ebay thing.

Where did you find this? I've looked on the web site, found nothing...

I had SSSnake OYL restore mine about 12-13 years ago and only had the front seats done. New retractors, belts, reused my date tags, but didn't get the new retractor covers, big mistake. Otherwise the belts and buckles still look great. The chrome on the buckles is still fantastic and the SS on the other portion look great also. IIRC it was about $350-$400 for the fronts

Took mine apart and kept all hardware and cleaned it up. Bought some new correct colour belt material on ebay. Took the belts to my local shoemaker who stitched them perfect for $10 a belt. Got all the tips to disassemble the buckles on this forum. Very happy with the results.

I have a set of front seat belts that were made by snake oyl, new in the box. I won't be using them and will let them go for $100. Send me your email.

Anyone ever used the Beams retractable seat belts on thier first gen??? I looked through forum and web and found other brands but they are all in the $300 to $400 range. Love to see how these $80 per side systems fit. Look a bit different than some I have seen but the buckles look very close to GM.
