a couple 57's

Someday I will own a 57 Starchief Vert.
Here are a couple. The blue one belonged to a lady that did windshield engraving.
You can see my Ivory and green 4 dr in the background. Sold in 1984
The White and Red vert was in Chicago. My dad saw the add in Hemmings so we drove up to look at it. The owner was not home but his daughter opened the garage so we could take one photo. Do not know what happened to the car.

If you can settle for a wagon I can hook you up.

Go my license in one. Brother had one at the time and while parents still had theirs I bought one. Brother had upgraded to a '62 Olds.
Sure miss the one I had and the one the parents had. Mine and Dad's were Chieftians and brothers was a Star Chief. Wonder where.........

poison heart 06-11-2010 01:10 AM

The '57s were beautiful as were the '55s and then the '56s. The '58s don't really do it for me but I love how ridiculous the '59s are.

The One that started it all.

The white with blue stripe 57 was moms favorite call. Its demise came when a garbage truck ran a red light and totalled it. I was 1 and my brother was 3. All ok. The impact knocked mom through the intersection and took out a Red fastback mustang. Either a 65 or 66.
The black with pink stripe. Mom hated that car. I will have to ask dad but I think it was traded in on the 69 GTO that we still have.

Where is the best place to get some of the exterior mouldings for 57's???

I'm fixing one up down under.

They are a sexy looking machine. So much nicer than a Chebby.

Well, somebody has to love the '58's... Might as well be me! Oh, and the kids..

Pontirag 06-15-2010 01:27 PM

A WAGON NO LESS. I got access to the remains of a 4 door. and I got a 2 door chevy sedan delivert. was thinkin of combining them

poison heart 06-15-2010 03:37 PM

The 58 Pontiacs were the best GMs that year but in my eyes they don't compare to the 57s or 59s

That's a bad ass wagon though

I did find some pics of Safari. Have to pardon my pudgy little bod..This 57 was one nice car.. Interior was perfect and all mechanicals were done when I had to let go !!
Rocker trim was off being polished..
I bought this car from John Thropp...
