1969 Starlight Judge with raiv and parchment

1969 Judge original RAIII close ratio with 3.90 gears, starlight black with parchment, a rare combo!

Judge was located on Vancouver Island B.C. in a tiny garage only been driven three times in the last 18 years.

Dave Bishop of SD Performance helped install the WW 69 Ram Air IV engine in the car over 20 years ago!

But the best news the IV engine is the matching vin to the Yakima Dick Marson drag car!

Owner did not want to sell period, but 8 hours later with Mike Johnson's help he weakend his stance. Mike and I took turns making a run at him with all the right reasons to sell the car. We left at 1.30 in the morning with a no.

I thought for sure there was no chance but I called the next morning at 8 am and he said yes!

Pictures will follow in a few days, I think Dave B. and his brother added a few options along way. Hideaway headlights, pw steering, tilt, wood wheel, gauges, console, car is straight and shiny. No real bad issues to speak of , no rust in the trunk.

Here is the link to the story on the drag car. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=632466

It's actually a RAIII Judge that had the original RAIV out of the Dick Marson car installed in it.

Very neat, kind of a double score on the car and the engine.

Where are pics of the black Judge???

Nice score Richard!!

Thanks guys for the input! I actually have two iv Judges, one bought 20 years ago, CR, with black interior, tinted glass, 3.90 gears, 4 speed, tilt, wood wheel, hideaways, gauges with hood tach, am fm with 8 track mounted on the floor, no console, pwr disk, and pwr steering.

I am very lucky to have come accross these 2 cars. One stripped for racing and one loaded for cruising!

The money has exchanged hands and heading to B.C. on Friday to pickup.

Actually after 8 hours of taking turns at running at the guy with Mike Johnson,(Mike is the guy that found the black Judge, plus the former owner of the Dick Marson drag car)
I thought I had maybe a 30% chance so i was already preparing for plan b. Didn't think it would happen!

It's surprising (or maybe not surprising) what turns up here on Vancouver Island. During the late 60's the the economy was booming in the forestry sector which was a huge employer at the time so lots of extra cash around to purchase these cars. If they stayed away from the wet and occasionally salted roads we get in the winters they are usually in pretty good condition still. Victoria (south Island) area especially.

What was plan B?

Would if have involved jail time if you were convicted? ;)

richard sargent 08-07-2010 03:36 AM

Plan B was to drop all the pressure and pleading. Sometimes it creates more resistance and makes people what to keep their car even more.

Wait a couple of months and give him a call, I had a extra window sticker made by P.H.S. and left it their so I would have a reason to call and bring up the Judge without asking about selling his car.

He had a second 69 GTO that was in a leaky garage that was rotting away and I had told him sell the Judge and put you 69 in your good garage. Again ask him about his leaky garage again.

Wait and see if he brought up the subject of selling, if he did offer more money? Ask him does he plan on keeping the black Judge until he dies? If it is a no, then please sell me the car with matching numbers now. Bring up a bunch of what if's you were to die tomorrow and the inlaws were grabbing at the car and the motor gets blown up or lost forever worst case examples. If no workie plan C.
