Reproduction Hideaway Bumper Brackets

I am considering an attempt at having these frame brackets reproduced. I don't believe anyone is making these currently.

What is everyone's take on having these reproduced? I know originals are getting harder to find.

I would not spend money on tooling but rather have blanks laser cut and formed, then welded up as factory brackets were.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, John

Funny thing, John...I just came across this ebay ad and thought the same thing:

Why hasn't anyone repro'd these yet, as they are scarce and when they do appear, their asking price is pretty steep.

Are these totally needed for a hideaway conversion? I'm thinking of converting my car from regular to hideaways but have no idea what all is needed. I'd say go for it, they seem simple enough to make with the right tools.

They are a must if you are going with hidden headlights and they are a unique part as compared to the regular bumper brackets. Non hidden brackets will not work.

Good luck John if you do, always nice to see the regular guys like us take a project on for a needed part when the vendors don't offer it. It's down right strange why these were never repro'd yet by any of the vendors either. They are long overdue and I bet you would sell a bunch now that the whole hidden headlight option is offered as a repro item and, the print in the ads say you need the brackets which are not offered.

They have been reproduced, they are horrendous but they have been done...they took regular brkts and welded some crap on them etc...they have sold on ebay, and they actually brought good money.....so if ugly sells, nice stuff will sell too...
