'65 Tempest Tierods
 

Is there a difference in length for the pair on the drivers side vs. the pair on the passengers side? Do any of you know the length of the correct parts(weather the same or different) so I might verify that mine are correct? With the steering wheel straight and the steering box centered, I cannot get enough adjustment to bring the passengers side wheel even close to straight. The car has been aligned before with these parts and it drove well, didn't wear tires etc. But the steering wheel wasn't centered. Now, trying to center everything up, I realize I may have incorrect parts. I measured the passengers side(with everything still assembled) and it looks like the ones I have are 8.625" long from the center of the joint to the end of the threads. Any help would be appreciated.

One additional piece of information, I have converted this car to disc brakes using 1972 A-body spindles and steering knuckles. Would that necessitate a different tie rod? They've been in use for several years now with no issues.(except the steering wheel not centered as mentioned earlier)

I've also heard that the left handed are the inners which is the way mine are. Just curious if maybe I have some wrong parts, maybe a wrong centerlink or something. I realize I can cut the ends of my existing tierods down, just wondering why I would need to. Anybody else have any experience with a problem like this?

Would there be a difference between centerlinks for manual steering vs. power? Anyone know? I did convert to manual steering after rebuilding the front suspension....
