g8 gt or g8 gxp?
I am in the market for a g8. I am hoping to find a low low miles stryker blue metallic gt with all options (19" rims, leather, sunroof), or a stryker blue metallic gxp with sunroof. I know that the cars have different suspension systems, brake systems, and motors. I see most gt's around $25-29k and the gxp's are around $40k.
My question is: is the gxp worth the extra $10k? I know the heads are the same except that the gxp has sodium filled valves. For an extra $10k for 50hp, I was thinking I could go buy a 99 trans am. For those who own both or have driven both, are they that different? I know most people say they are completely different cars. The only reason I am asking is this is the one time in my life I can afford either, so it's now or never! However, the car will most likely be driven in snow since I am not driving the 75 ta in winter... |
GXP has forged bottom end. Is LS3 based and can support much more upgrades (past 500 HP) than can a GT. Different engine really...

But that color in a GXP will be darned hard to find. We have one here that a club member bought. Had to have it shipped in from a dealer on the west coast to get it.

I have a GXP in the Pacific Slate color with a no roof/auto combo. Perhaps one of the rarest combo's built. Car is always garaged has never seen rain, less than 5,000 miles.
Might sell for the right offer. If your interested shoot me a PM. To answer your question, I look at it like this, what is a Buick GN worth VS a Buick GNX? I think in years to come that is what you will see with the GT VS the GXP JMHO. Stan |
