...I spotted this at the James Dean Car Show in Fairmount Indiana last September, very nice
|
Neat! Not an easy job to match the door to the quarter.
Looks like the door is from a 4 door lemans sedan |
Nice , but the Honeys don't go with it

Cool!
What did the sticker say - do you have a close-up? |
Oh, thats the El GOATINO. :oogle:
They only made one, and it was on a slow weekend shift and run out the back door. ;):):D A very cool project, I like it! :) |
I'd like to see the PHS on that little jewel!
Love this hobby - limited only by a builder's imagination. BJ |
I've never cared for El Camino's, but can appreciate the orignality/creativity it takes to pull off a factory looking car that was never really built :)
|
being a real lover of elcaminos, that has to be one of the coolest rides i have ever seen. is it for sale somewhere???
|
Anyone know this car or its owner/builder? I would like to see some more of it please. Any other pics 69 Daytona by chance?
|
Theres a guy on the V-8 Buick site, he built a GSXamino..i heard he was building a GTOmino..ill ask a guy i know who knows him and see if theres a build thread or site..if i find it i'll post the link..or see if its the same guy..the GSXamino is an amazing car...i mean top flight stuff...

Nice job. He even has 442 UTE rego plates. Notice no window frames either. So thats a 70 Olds and the previously mentioned 70 Buick GSX (which looks just as nice as this Olds too), I guess I better hurry up and start on my 70 GTO version! |
There was a 66 GTOcamino running around the Phoenix area in the late 80s/early 90s. I saw it a couple of times....looked like it had been done a long time ago (faded paint).

that guy really spent alot of time on that olds version. interesting how he fabricated the quarters to work with the elcamino. very nice.
do you have any pics of the gsx version? |
i always wanted to take a lemans wagon, put a 69 gto front end with hide a ways, and put an elcamino bed on it so i would have a 4 door. i had talked about doing it with a dually rear end , but thought that might be a little too much.

I think it would look a bit cooler if he could have moved the rear wheels back 4 - 6". (Wagon frame vs. 2-door frame?.... if it had a longer wheelbase). |
