pictures wanted 68 gto rear sway bar
Guys,
i am looking at installing a rear sway bar on my GTO convertible. Can someone post pictures of the instal and want brands where used. |
I have one on my '68 lemans vert. It's a stock GM bar pulled from a salvage yard. Any similar year GM A-body will work '68 to '72. You'll have to get boxed lower control arms or box in yours if they are not already. Our host has the hardware kit and shims. Or you can just get the shims and buy your own bolts, as I did. Grade 8.

There's also the collars/sleeves that come in some hardware kits that are for non-boxed arms. They slide in the U groove and the bolt goes through it. You're better off getting the boxed though, and if you're buying new ones, the aftermarket ones are much better.
Helwig, PST, and several others make the bar fairly inexpensive. There are exploded diagrams in a number of the resto catalogs, like PY, Year One, etc. . |
