Yeah??? Chevy powered A body...

Greg Reid 03-21-2011 05:49 AM

Well....the body style is still nice.
Outside of that, it bears little resemblence to the original '68 GTO it started life as.

Lose the Shivvvy drivetrain......

Matt Meaney 03-21-2011 06:06 PM

think he'll sell the car for 2K sans engine? after all, that's where the money is. :bolt:

yeah that get maybe 5 mile to gal. and you build a modern chevy that would run mid 10s for a lot less and still be a street car(15-16 mpg), + chevy coming out with ZL-1 wonder what it was running on? to get 9.8 and what was to DA? I know I'm going to get a lot of disagreement, but old pontiacs don't compare to modern muscle cars. There great and I love them but there not the same.

Why would anyone disagree with that?
A lot of people love horses and model-Ts. It doesn't mean they somehow think they are 'the same' as modern cars.
We love our old Pontiacs for what they are...and what they are not.
The fact that they are not modern muscle cars and they are not Chevies are only two of the reasons.

What I was saying is, it's the wrong thing to do with that car. Looks like a nice 68, Did anyone notice how he got the hood shut with that tunnel ram on there?

Greg Reid 03-22-2011 09:54 AM

My mistake then...I must have misunderstood your meaning.
No worries anyway, just having a discussion about a '68 GTO with a BBC in it..lol.
