Reverse Osmosis drinking water system?
Anybody have have one these? What brands are good and ones to stay away from? Where would you recomend getting one, locally or online? Was looking to get one for the kitchen faucet so we could stop buying bottled water.
Thanks, Eric |
They rock. I don't know about brands, but we have well water, and with our system the water tastes better than any bottled water bar none.

Thanks, we also have well water.

One of the best home improvements I ever did. I have a GE system and it is about eight years old. The maintenance a few times a year can be a pain but the taste and quality of the water is second to none. We have municipal water. The kids won't drink bottled water because the house water tastes so much better.

We had a NEW HAGUE system installed ~6years ago. It is quite good.
Prior homes happen to have had the Culligan systems. We have Public (house) & Well water (garden hoses). |
we've had an APEC for a few years now..trouble free, water is great nice system, easy self install.. company looks stable ..for replacement filters
i think we bought the RO 45 which is $299 i see on their site ... thats the same price i paid years ago.. http://www.freedrinkingwater.com/ |
We have a Kinetico RO system. Great water. It's mounted in the basement, above the water softener with a 5gal tank and a small electric pump. We mounted it down there so that we could use it both at a spigot at the sink and also to our fridge/icemaker. I think filter replacement is about $100, but it lasts all year.

Bought an undersink system 5 years ago at Lowes for my well water. Ran a line to the icemaker, the ice cubes look like clear glass. Have only changed filters once. It filters about 2-3 gallons a day. Beware it does put a lot of water down your drain in the process.

Try the folks at this site. I've been dealing with them for the last 6 years for my reef tanks. They know water treatment systems!
