Where did you get the picture from? Looks photo shopped. leaves and grass in front of and under the pig MUCH larger than behind it.

Bob Dillon 04-10-2011 12:51 AM

Photoshopped. Even European or Russian wild boars only hit 700 pounds or so, That's the size of a bison. C'mon.

1800 lbs....that is the size of a Brahma Bull....0r a bull Bison....no pig can get that big...Feral pigs out here rarely get over 150 to 200 lbs

That's more believable....those don't look like Manitoban hunters, they look Turkish and I've never seen or heard of wild boars around here.

Not saying it is real, but feral hogs can get pretty huge. The butt on that thing in the 1st Pic. looks like a bear. From what I have read, once they escape their genetic structure begins to change very shortly after they escape into the wild. They begin to grow hair etc. within weeks. There are some BMF domestic hogs.

Bunch of crazy shows on TV about them too.

Fun hunting regardless. .44 magnums etc. They are becoming a plague in many parts of US.

No way the boars are that big around here. We do have wild boars that northeast of the city but they never got that big. Maybe 1500#s :)

Hogs Gone Wild is a new show...had a few shows in Feb as a trial run.....season starts on April 19th......good show.......wild hogs/pigs are out of control....they show them in TX, FL and believe or not Hawaii....didn't know Hawaii had such a problem.

I think the show returns on Discovery Channel.

All over the place on the big island. back in the early 80s the base dump was a big depression in the side of the mountain, they would come down the great crack and into the dump, we would sit on the top of the ridge and pick them off with M16s for the weekend BBQ. gave quite a few to the locals in the poor neighborhoods.

Funny here's the story I got with the same pics ,about a year ago

Cute Texas Pig!!!

Cute little Texas pig ...That was killed in the town of Cut-N-Shoot TX. We call them Piney Wood Rooter's.
There was a documentary on about a month ago about these things growing up so rapidly in the US. They're all over Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, Florida, and other states. You ever wonder what happens to those people that just leave home and disappear but their car is found out on a dirt road? Between bigfoot and these monsters, I think we know!
Killed by a Medical Radiology worker...What would you do if this beast was coming at you? Run for dear life? Climb a tree? Or simply get run over?

Over 1,800 lb. Wild boar shot and killed in Conroe, Texas near the County Airport, East of I-45 and near the community of Cut and Shoot.

Yep......only in Texas ! We were taught to stand still because their eyesight is poor. By standing still they probably would not see you and walk right on by. And No you can't outrun them!! Look at how tall the grass and weeds are. How fast do you think you would be running thru that? I don't know about ya'll but I'm a fat slow joker that would fall flat on my face after a few steps.
Pork Chop Anyone?
