1961 Pontiac Fender Bolts / Paint Question

1 Attachment(s)
Looking for input from you experts on what you have seen when it comes to bolts on original cars? On a 1961 Catalina; the bolts on the fenders which attach to the inner fender wells (behind the front tires) are painted the same color as the body. Seeing as many Pontiac's left the factory in many different ways, were these bolts painted or not? The car in question reads 29,xxx on the odometer.

Thanks!!

May have partially answered my question, still looking for others to weigh in however and give me their thoughts or first-hand photos of bolt-paint. I've attached two photos of 1 of the bolts on a 1962 Bonneville parts car I have sitting in the back yard. This car I know for 100% certainty has never been wrecked or painted (bought from the original owners). Although hard to see in the picture the bolt was most definitely painted the same color of the car when new! You can still see the trace of color on it.

Do any others have any photos they would like to share?

Thanks All!

The information I have is they were silver cad plated, but I don't know for sure if they got paint on them...I think the fenders were painted before they were bolted on.

bolts

Second owner 61 south gate built bonny. Bolts are black, but defiantly look better painted.
