Bearing interchange

I need to fit new rod bearings to my 400 and can pick up a set of 301 rod bearings for nothing. Are they the same and can I use them on my 400.

No, they are not the same. 301 has a 2" rod jouranl vs. the 400's 2.250".

cant you throw them on a lathe and open them up.:)
