Wing Window Rubber

So I finally figured out last year where I was getting all of my wind noise from... Turns out it's the rubber wing window seal. If I press the glass tighter against it, wind noise cuts down to nearly nothing. Looking closely at it, it's very dry and cracked. I've seen replacement pieces for these on ebay but don't know if they are any good. Has anyone replaced these and have any suggestions where to buy? Also is it a tough job?

Tried PY? (just sayin')

I looked at their site, but wasn't sure about any of it being the right piece. Kind of confusing...

I'd call PY tech support and also Steele (after PY). Should be a slam-dunk given shared glass app with Shivvy.

Somewhat challenging, patience required. A shop manual is invaluable for removing/installing the vent window assembly from/into the door.

i got mine from steel rubber products once you get out of the car you have to drill out some rivets out to get it apart

Ok, I'll look into it some more, thanks.

I'm not sure what Year car Fat Cat is talking about but if it's a '65 or '66, you don't need to drill any rivets out that I'm aware of.

First job is pulling the entire quater vent assembly out of the door. It's actually quite easy to do and if you mark the settings carefully, it will go back into the same position without difficulty.

You pull out the felt chanel and there are screws behind which simply undo. The window will pull out and it all becomes quite clear on how they are assembled.

Good Luck

Yes Ian, it's a 66. I have had the quarter window and track out before, just never took it apart further, so that much I can handle. Seems pretty straightforward after that. Thanks.
