1970 GTO Ram Air 7040270 Carburetor
 

Original/authentic and unrestored 1970 GTO Ram Air 7040270 WA carb. Found on a non-ram air 70 several years ago and placed in storage. Dated 3049.

Mr writter, may i ask, the small rod from the accelerator arm to vent, still have it?? Also i noticed the accelerator arm hanging down inside the pump area , why is that?? I believe pumps were machined to have a washer to hold boot down. Has the pump been changed??
How are the threads on the inlet side of the fuel filter?? I believe thats the wrong choke pull-off for this carb. thats broken, I believe its a metal one . Hope you don,t mind me asking the questions, just trying to learn a little about this yr. carb. Thank You

67cruiser: I apologize, I'm much more knowledgeable on tri-powers than 4bbls, I'll do my best. I don't have the rod from the arm to the vent, but I took one off another carb and installed that. The keeper for the pump is missing, and the boot has a small tear and needs to be replaced during the rebuild. The choke pulloff is indeed broken but would also be replaced during rebuild. I checked the inlet threads and they are fine, no problems. It hasn't been overtightened. I will try to get a better pic of that area.
