After many years of "lurking" here on the forum,it is time I introduce myself and offer
thanks to the many fantastic members of this forum and their wealth of knowledge.My name is Pete and I have been in the Pontiac hobby as a restorer and collector most of my adult life like most of you.I recently sold the 1970 Trans AM (4spd.,blue int.)at Barrett-Jackson,Las Vegas,following a five year(winter)restoration.The car was pretty rough to start with,but we can devote time in winter to "hobby" restoration work.I own a service station in Norht Idaho and winter is our "off-season".I guess I am a sucker for challenges,but the car(72 T/A) had quite a bit going for it minus the rust issues.Once the condition is fully assesed,the body and frame will be professionally repaired.It will not be rebodied.Once again I want to thank the members of this forum as I am sure to need their expertice on my future project!I currently own a 1969 Judge(carousel,4spd.)
and a 1971 Trans Am(Lucerne blue,4spd)-Pete

Many congratulations! If it's that one on ePay, you do have some work ahead of you, but you'll have a fantastic car when you're done. Your other cars a great too. Be sure to post some pics along the way.

Congratulations - the offer stands on the carb.

(It's dated perfectly for the car & has the original R 273 sticker on the drivers side rear!)

BTW, I've seen the car - it was accurately described, Kevin's a good guy.

I have fixed and seen worse..
I wish I could throw some frames in a 71 shell I have, but will saddly probably crush it.

Definitely take up The Boss on his offer for that carb trade. The 72 four speed carb is a lot harder to find than that 71 carb you have with your project.

That carb and the distributor were the two missing pieces of my puzzle when I first got it. Took a couple years to find them.

Lotsa work required but it's the car to do it on and you sound like you're up for it. Great buy that will pay off big someday and be a collector's dream. Congrats!

Say Boss, nice carb. Is it a NOS carb? It looks perfect.

I don't think so - it's been used, but looks like a day one removal. I bought it for my Sundance car but it's not going with it & I could surely use that 71.

Boss,I was originally thinking of my 71 as it is lacking the correct carb,but let me give some thought to your trade offer.

just as a heads up. you could use that carb on your 71,but most if not all 71 4 speeds came with 267 not 273 carbs. just finially got the 267 for my car.

by the way, good luck with your project. like others here i have done worse, just takes more time and costs more money.

what carb where you running before you found the correct one? My 71 was missing the carb when I bought it and it will be a while before I can afford the correct one. Thanks, Todd

a service replacement 7041270 dated some time in 1974 if i remember right.
