67 ragtop Goat, rear 1inch lift
 

What do you all recommend for this small lift in the rear, spring air bags, shock/spring combination or excellent quality shocks only??? stock H.P. orginal milage, stock sway bar, I just wanted to lift a tad? installed stock springs already and spiral shocks 2yrs ago.

Station wagon springs should do it.

Don't use shocks to try to add additional ride height, ride stiffness will increase dramatically.

Air shocks are the only shocks that can increase ride height, but again not the ideal way to do it.

I've used springs out of a B body...a full size car. It gives a nice rake without looking jacked up.

Tried that. Terrible ride. When I went back to regular shocks, it was a different car.

Back in the mid 90's I had Custom Spring Specialties make me a custom set of springs.

I asked for .75" over stock for my '64 GTO convertible and that's exactly what I got.

best bet is a set of station wagon springs

good rake and a nice ride

shocks wont affect hight and good shocks will wear out just as quickly as cheap shocks if your springs are bad. no way around that.

your really dont want to go stiffer because frame and body end up absorbin more of the force rather than the springs. criticle on a convertible

Well the boxed trailing arms with the sway bar on the rear, and installing drag bags in the rear springs was the TICKET!!! Wow just what i needed, no sway on turns, running low air pressure on bags, just enough to lift the rear 1.5 inches.
