I think the thing to keep in mind though is, although it is bad when a good car gets sacrificed people seem to evolve in the car hobby. Its a form of self expression, I remember doing things that I thought where cool back in the day. Sitting at a light thinking People where looking at me cause I was Hot Sh*t,,,When they where really saying, "I want some of what he 's drinking" Like big hair and bell bottom pants, now kids are walking around the mall with there pants half down and some day they will look at photos and say " what the hell was I thinking!" Just my two cents. Here are some of the crazy paint jobs I am guilty of from back in the day.:usa2:

At least none of those were Pontiacs!! :D

Did you buy it in sweeden ?? |
No, I bought this car in around 2007 from Tawas Michigan, It was called the Roman Chariot, The front seats where white vinyl with big black buttons, and there where signs of black fur on the dash, there where also some purple parts carefully figured in,, It was here on the judge thread back then when it was for sale On Ebay. I'm sure the guy who did it back in the 70s was the king of the hill at the race track on the weekends. I actually wasn't sure if I should leave it that way at first (for a little while) as a period car for fun, :o , It was featured in a Swedish Mag for a survey for fun to see what they thought over there, Being very much into the American way with custom cars. it was actually a toss-up. But I had to do the right thing in the end and make it right,, learned a lot here at PY on the judge threads and received a lot of help from members. Car has been restored to original white with ivory interior, and WT-7 black stripes and wing. P.S. I also put the 70 442 with all the crazy stripes back to its original azura blue before I sold it. :third:

Returning the Olds convertible to stock would've been a tough call for me. It looked nice from the picture. Those early seventies customs are becoming very trendy now. I can hear old garage doors creaking open and guys removing the junk off their 1970s show car swathed in thirty year old Beach Towels and blankets. Just saw one last week in that very situation ...metallic orange with scallops. Heaveeeee.:oogle:
